FIX A LEAK HELPS SEAL LEAKS IN SWIMMING POOLS AND HOT TUBES

FIX-A-LEAK is a product that helps seal leaks in swimming pools, hot tubs and water systems. It is used to seal cracks and holes in a variety of materials such as plastic, copper and steel, without the need for complicated repairs. It is easy to use and creates a long-lasting seal at the leak site.

What does FIX-A-LEAK do?

  • Seals leaks in different types of materials: PVC, polyethylene, copper, steel and others.
  • It is applicable to swimming pools and hot tubs - regardless of whether it is pipes, pool shell or other parts.
  • It even closes small holes up to 3 mm in diameter.
  • Easy to use – added to water without the need to disassemble equipment.

How to use FIX-A-LEAK?

  • Prepare the system :

    • Before adding FIX-A-LEAK , turn off the filter so that the product does not remain in it.
    • For sand filters, set the valve to “recirculate.” For cartridge or DE (diatomaceous earth) filters, remove the filters to allow the water to circulate freely.
  • Add product :

    • While the pump is running, slowly pour FIX-A-LEAK through the skimmer (the opening that leads water to the filter) or directly in front of the suction holes.
    • The recommended amount is one liter of product per 83,000 liters of water (about one 946 ml bottle).
  • Stir the water :

    • FIX-A-LEAK is heavy and sinks to the bottom quickly, so it needs to be stirred into the water regularly. This can be done with a pool broom or an automatic pool cleaner every 4-6 hours.
  • Maintain circulation :

    • Continue to circulate the water until the leak stops. Check the water level using the mark on the pool for the next 2-3 days to make sure there are no more leaks.
  • After treatment :

    • Once the leak has stopped, wait 24-48 hours for FIX-A-LEAK to harden and solidify. After that, you can return the filter to normal operation.
  • Rinse off excess product :

    • If there is any FIX-A-LEAK residue, flush it out of the filter to keep the system working properly.

Special situations:

  • Leaks in the suction lines (pipes leading to the pump) :

    • If you notice air bubbles in the water on the return pipes, it is possible that the suction pipe is leaking. In this case, you need to reverse the water flow so that the FIX-A-LEAK is forced through the leak under pressure. After the repair, let everything sit for at least 48 hours.
  • Leaks around fittings (skimmers, lights, stairs) :

    • If the leak is coming from these parts, turn off the pump and apply FIX-A-LEAK directly to the leak using a precision applicator bottle (like a ketchup bottle). Allow to work for at least 48 hours before restarting circulation.

Additional information:

  • Leak Prevention : In addition to repairing existing leaks, FIX-A-LEAK can also act as a preventative measure by coating internal surfaces and helping to prevent corrosion.
  • Repeated treatment : If the leak is not completely stopped after the first treatment, you can repeat the procedure.

Conclusion:

FIX-A-LEAK is a practical and effective product that repairs leaks in swimming pools and hot tubs without the need for disassembly of the equipment or major repairs. It is easy to use and its long-lasting seal provides a permanent solution to the leak.
